Computer Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar with ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Technologically savvy and familiar with MS and Apple operating systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer hardware, software, and
    networking principles.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience and competence working with individuals and families from culturally diverse backgrounds required (EOE).
  • Upbeat and positive.
  • Efficient standards and pride in the quality of your work.
  • Provide a good work ethic, with a history of reliability and punctuality.
  • Enjoys working/teaching with students/co-workers and finding solutions.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Cooking Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar with ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Ability to provide introduction and instruction to each kitchen station, learning prep and execution for both AM and PM programming.
  • Prepares and cooks menu items to established quality standards.
  • Ensures items are prepared in a timely fashion with other kitchen affairs.
  • Instruct and present food displays at proper portions and temperatures, with all dish components present.
  • Willingness to earn and provide new methods of preparation.
  • Assist participants with organizing, preparing, and maintaining food prep par levels.
  • Provide weekly inventory of items needed to produce menu items and
    notifies supervisor of expected shortages in a timely manner.
  • Assist with receiving and storing products.
  • Ensures kitchen sanitation standards are met in designated areas
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as required.
  • Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Hairdressing/Barber Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Work/experience as a Hair Stylist, Hairdresser, Colorist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in hair straightening and curling methods (hot irons and curlers).
  • Proficiency in cutting, trimming and shaving hair using professional
    equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with various coloring techniques.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of haircuts, suitable for all hair lengths.
  • Familiarity with hair treatment products and services.
  • Up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to provide direction and correction.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts.
  • Ability to teach perception of hairstyles and haircuts according to customers’ face shapes and tastes.
  • Wash, rinse and dry clients’ hair using appropriate shampoos and
    conditioners (e.g. for oily hair or dry scalp).
  • Apply a wide range of hair coloring techniques, like highlights, ombre etc.
  • Create hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks, including braids, ponytails and buns
  • Apply hair treatment products or post haircut products, as needed (e.g. color protection creams and hydrating masks, aftershave)
Nail Tech Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Proven work experience as a Nail Technician, Manicurist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in painting fingernails and toenails.
  • Proficiency in cleaning, cutting and shaping nails (acrylics included).
  • Expertise in basic and advanced nail techniques, including french manicures, airbrushing and gel manicures.
  • Knowledge of cosmetology trends.
  • Understanding of sanitation and sterilization standards.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Certification in Cosmetology or Nail Art is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a reward/team-based setting.
Yoga Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Monitor fitness level and requirements of all participants and design classes to suit individual(s) need.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationship with participants and ensure optimal level of customer services.
  • Prepare and promote schedule for group fitness and assist participant to attend yoga classes.
  • Perform and demonstrate all yoga exercises to participants and ensure compliance to safety and health standard.
  • Evaluate and assist exercises perform by participants and recommend correction whenever required.
  • Maintain neat and clean exercise room at all times.
  • Coordinate with participants and counsel on lifestyle, diet and mental health issues to ensure healthy body and mind.
  • Design safe and comprehensive yoga program for various participants from diverse group.
Fashion Design Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Alter garment and join parts, using needle and thread or sewing machine, to form finished garment.
  • Ability to measure customer for size, using tape measure and records
    measurements.
  • Sew buttons, buttonholes, fabric etc. to finish garment.
  • Positions pattern of garment parts on fabric, and cuts fabric along outlines, using scissors.
  • Excellent design and conceptual skills.
  • Eagerness for promotion of creativity.
  • Excellent sense of style and color.
  • Ability to operate sewing/tailor machinery.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Photography Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Take pictures of individuals, families, and small groups, either in studio or on location.
  • Estimate and measure light levels, distances, and numbers of exposures needed using measuring devices and formulas.
  • Select and assemble equipment/required background properties, according to subjects, materials, and conditions.
  • Perform general office duties such as scheduling appointments, keeping books, and ordering supplies.
  • Transfer photographs to computers for editing, archiving, and electronic transmission.
  • Edit photographs using software’s such as Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Illustrator CS6, Adobe Photoshop etc.
Make-up Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Cleanse and tone the skin in order to prepare it for makeup application.
  • Provide or research information on skin care routines and practices.
  • Ability to identify products and tools (makeup brushes, sponges, primer etc.)
  • Ability to utilize beauty tools and products effectively.
  • Alter or maintain makeup during productions as necessary to compensate for lighting changes or to achieve continuity of effect.
  • Ability to successfully perform techniques related to fulfilling a complete make-up face (accent, contouring makeup, blending, highlighting).
  • Distinguish face shapes according to make-up look desired.
  • Ability to identify and teach choosing eye makeup shades and lid application.
  • Ability to identify and teach about the importance skin tones.
  • Identifying palette styles and ability to blend colors.
Eyelash Technician Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Designs specific eyelash treatments based on unique styles and needs.
  • Performs professional eyelash extension sessions.
  • Upholds the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by state law and the studio’s policies and procedures.
  • Creates excellent experience for guests with a charismatic, friendly, and helpful attitude.
  • Provides frequency recommendations and education to guests on proper lash aftercare.
Day Program/Afterschool Educational Coordinator Intern – Candidates with the following tasks/qualifications will be considered:

  • Familiar in ability to work with at-risk youth.
  • Reports directly to Center Lead Coordinator.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of the “Be You Center” site for youth and adults.
  • Facilitates basic reading, math, and language arts skills and provides
    academic instruction during center hours.
  • Assist in homework/project completion.
  • Develops curriculum in conjunction with other Education
    Coordinator(s), the Lead Coordinator, and the “Be You Center Directors.
  • Provides remedial, basic, and enrichment group instruction and tutoring to youth using computers and other resources.
  • Ensures that the “Be You Center” functions smoothly and reliably.
  • Ensures the safety and security of personnel and computer equipment.
  • Assists in record keeping of attendance, activities, and participation.
  • Provides support to students in improving academic skills program.
  • Experience in and interest in working with diverse populations of
    children and adults in a learning environment.
